Omaha Public Power District Board – District 3
I want to be part of OPPD’s effort “…to provide affordable, reliable and environmentally sensitive services…” to the over 800,000 customers in the area. My key contribution to this effort is my extensive scientific knowledge and experience. With over 35 years as a high school master plus science teacher, including 15 years advanced placement biology instruction credited at Iowa Western Community College and UNO, I can assure the voters/customers my board decisions will be science-based.
Additionally, I am an active member of International Earthwatch and have participated in five research projects on climate change around the world. I have an extensive record of community involvement including having served on the negotiating team for union contracts as a member of the Council Bluffs Education Association, having serving on the Metropolitan Community College Board (2010 -2012) and testifying before the Nebraska State Board of Education on the importance of including climate change in the Nebraska State Science Curriculum.
The driving force for me in seeking to represent the voters of OPPD District 3, Sarpy County is the strong belief that as a society we must take action now to combat climate change. Living in the windiest state, we must join Iowa and Kansas in replacing coal with wind turbines to ensure a future for our children and grandchildren.
VOTE for me, William Forsee, OPPD, District 3 Sarpy County on November 3!
